How the SCL-X News Feed detects the signal from the noise

One lesson learned from years of running best practice-sharing sessions is that the problem isn't lack of information. In fact, it's quite the opposite. With all the news, blogs, white papers, webinars, magazines, research papers, generative AI and - yes - events and conferences there's barely time to run a supply chain, let alone innovate one!

SCL-X isn't adding to the noise but filtering and distilling the best of publicly available information on our core themes: capability-building, capital-efficient innovation, agile and iterative change management, advanced technology applications and how modularity and composability make sense of all of the above.

A SINGULAR FOCUS ON PRACTICAL, REAL-WORLD INNOVATION

Everybody needs and should have a clear vision to serve as their 'north star', even if the compass points in the wrong direction from time-to-time.  But visions alone aren't going to get anything done. We spent years sharing best practices around particular capabilities - planning, visibility, execution...etc. - but without addressing and overcoming persistent blockers and replacing them with enablers the outcome is too often inspiration without application.

THE AGENTS ARE LISTENING

We've set up a series of agents that collect news, announcements and insights from a very wide and diverse array of sources, each aligned to key themes and challenges that underpin the SCL-X value proposition.

HUMAN & MACHINE LEARNING

We can track which items are read and how often which feeds back into each agent's algorithm about what they listen for, which sources are prioritised and which are blocked. It's a work in progress but, over time, we hope to continuously improve the quality of the feed. One glitch we're working on at the moment is how to prevent duplicated content when the same article appears in multiple sources and is caught by several agents...watch this space!

AND SOME SIMPLE TAG FILTERING

The result all of this is a steady stream (not a torrent) of relevant content filtered by content tags, designed to be easy to browse between meetings or whenever you catch a break.

FEEDING SCL-X INSIGHTS

Sometimes the feed identifies something that deserves greater attention and that's when we develop it into a more detailed piece published on INSIGHTS along with interviews, case studies and other more in-depth content.
